I have always enjoyed working with animals. Both of my parents have always had pets and I was able to tour Tuskegee University with my parents.
Since that time, I have volunteered at my local animal hospital and done VetStep at Tuskegee also.

Snakes & Turtles. I have red ear sliders turtles at home and I am the one to help clean the tank and feed them. I talk to them every day and I believe they know my voice because they turn their heads.
Reading. I have been working on my reading and getting better. I enjoying learning about new topics through reading. I have read about my turtles.
I love my turtles and animals in general. Some may be scary but I like watching the Critter Fixers and they make it look less scary. I believe I can do that too.

My favorite animal is the Red Panda. I love watching them in their habitat and reading all the cool facts. They are like cats.
Math is my favorite subject. I enjoy solving problems and showing my work.
Ever since I watched the Critter Fixers on Disney, I have been interested in the career. I have stuffed animals that I am "helping" with their injuries and enjoying fixing them. I love animals and have turtles and fish at home.

My favorite animal is an Australian shepherd. Outside of their beautiful outward appearance. From my limited interactions they seem to be mellow and protective of their family. When I did a bit of research I found they they are considered highly intelligent as well.
My favorite subject is math because there is only one right answer to a problem but there are multiple ways to solving it. Math keeps me on my toes and I never get bored:
I truly love all animals. They are God’s creation and are beautiful and diverse just like we are. Each have its own uniqueness and brings a different value to the world. Their life cycle is similar to ours but so different in many ways. I want to study them, help to keep them healthy, safe and protected. Their life is just as valuable as ours!

Critter Fixers -Vet for a Day Program
My favorite animal is a dog because I've lived with dogs throughout my whole life and they comfort me at my worst. I'm an animal lover so I love and care for all animals but still can be scared of some animals like snakes and cats.
My favorite subject in school have to be English because I enjoy writing. For my I.E.P., that's one of my weaknesses, but it's kinda cool that I like writing even though I'm not the best at it. The only reason I don't like English is because I don't like reading.
I am interested in being a veterinarian because ever since I was a little kid, I've been in love with animals. I don't like when animals are hurt. Even if I'm scared of a certain animal, I still try my best to save it's life. I believe that me being an animal love would make me a great fit for doing a job I would love the most.. and that would be helping animals and giving them the life they deserve... because most of the time... animals care more about you then themselves. When I found that out for the first time, I really wanted to cry because it's so true.

Birds, specifically parrots, have become my favorite animal. I have come to love parrots after I took in two rescue birds last year. One is a parakeet that was found flying in my neighbor’s backyard, and the other is a 27-year-old cockatiel who needed more attention than their owner could give. Before getting these birds, I had only owned reptiles. Having pets that need so much of my attention has been a great learning experience for me.
My favorite subject is science. I always feel engaged in the material we are working on, and I’m genuinely excited to go to science class no matter how I'm feeling that day.
I have always loved animals and could never turn one away when one needed a home. After accumulating four lizards and two birds, I have realized that I am really good at caring for animals. Having so many pets has helped me learn about the various health problems animals can have. Last year, I began volunteering with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and I became licensed myself . As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator I have helped many different injured and orphaned animals, including squirrels, rabbits, deer, opossums, woodchucks, song birds, pigeons, ducks, owls and hawks. Knowing that I am making a difference by helping these animals is one of the most rewarding experiences. It has also motivated me to become a veterinarian, so I can help animals even more.

My favorite animals are goats. Goats have always stuck out to me because they are so unapologetically themselves, they are loud, friendly, and love to play. I remember my first experience with baby goats was at farm camp and I immediately fell in love with them. They would walk right up to people and jump on you to try and sit on your lap. Their nibbling and stomping feet were endearing, so I was always dragging my feet when I had to leave them. Even their interactions with one another were so interesting to watch, the playfulness they exhibited and observing what their different noises meant, whether it be irritation, happiness, or a mood of sadness. There was even a sense of tranquility to watch them graze and laze around. They are such intelligent creatures and I put so much time and research into trying to convince my parents to let me get a goat, and creating a plan of how it would work. I looked at town records to see if we had enough land, I brought up that they would help keep our grass short, I mentioned some breeds could be used for cheese and milk, I drafted a small barn to be made with specifications of insulation, food, and how it would be orientated for the safety of my imaginary goat, and figured out which type of goat would best suite our household. Cows and whales have also been other animals I am intrigued by, but goats would have to win out overall because I find their mannerisms so peculiar yet captivating.
My favorite subject is tough for me to determine because I seem to like certain aspects of different classes. For example, I like the freedom of expression that I can have in my art class, and I have always been interested in crime shows and podcasts, so my forensics class is a huge point of interest for me, especially considering I know we will be dissecting a dear later into the semester. I also believe that a teacher and their commitment to different topics can make or break a class as they hold influence on a student's success and enjoyment, specifically when a student hasn't found a way to learn on their own. Though, advanced chemistry has probably been my favorite subject in high school so far, though I am taking AP Biology this year and based on the introductions I think it will easily become a favorite of mine. The reactions, experiments, and math involved in chemistry as well as its worldly applications in connection to medical advancements and technological improvements stuck out to me. Chemistry just seemed to make sense to me in a way and on a level that any other class had yet to. As a sophomore, I began everyday in my chemistry class, and this schedule grew on me, I didn't resent the challenging work, but welcomed it.
It is the depth of the connection. I am interested in being a veterinarian because animals are the thing I turn back to, they never stray far from my mind. I grew up around multiple dogs and fed into my interests by taking part in farm camp, where I was exposed to cows, rabbits, sheep, chicks, chickens, horses, and obviously goats. The two golden retrievers that were a part of the family before I was even born have since past away, but one of which had three legs, and the other went blind, so their legacies have always inspired me to continue this past. They were the lights of our lives. Guinness and Newcastle had gotten into a territorial tiff, over a pile of rocks that must have been home to a critter, after we had just moved into a new house, causing Guinness to tear his patella tendon. There had only been one case of a patella tendon tear at Cornell at the time. Guinness then slipped and fell in the kitchen in his first week of recovery after his surgery which resulted in him breaking his femur. The broken femur paired with all of the rods in his leg led to an amputation being necessary. Even still, Guinness never failed to give us his happy go-lucky attitude. I remember coming home from being away and sitting on our gray couch being told that Guinness was no longer with us. He died on the bathroom floor when only my dad was home from what we suspect was a stroke. At the time I didn't fully grasp the gravity of the situation and the effect of it that would follow me around. Newcastle lived his last few years of life with no vision, he had glaucoma and cataracts, and I remember him wobbling around and bumping into the walls all of the time. The empathy and line of understanding we had created was unmatched. I shadowed a veterinarian recently and the astonishment I felt at the end of the day I wasn't even able to put into words. My mind was full of questions, but I also reached a level of contentment I didn't know was possible. Now we have three dogs, two rescues and a golden retriever. Their behaviors and reactions to certain things like the stairs, food, and even the door never fail to amaze me. They are so intune to my emotions and one look at their sweet faces always brightens my day. I want to be someone who can help animals in need and support their families, even knowing that putting them out of their pain may be the best way to do it.

My favorite animal at the moment would be goats. I've volunteered at a farm in Cazenovia a few times this summer, one of my jobs being to help clean out goat stalls. Working with them was really fun, they're super sweet and love attention.
My favorite subject in school is Urban Teacher Preparation, I love going over to Roberts Elementary and working with the kids.
When I was younger whenever I went to the grocery store, I'd see lobsters in a water case with their claws held together by rubber bands. Seeing animals in a state like that has made me feel very bad for them and has inspired me to help them.

For as long as I can remember, cats have always been my favorite animals. I grew up with two cats who both shaped my life dramatically, and now have three cats. Each cat I have had has played an influential role in my life and oddly enough, has encouraged me to learn more about myself. From studying with them, reading to them, or simply just spending time with them, my cats have given me unmeasurable comfort and have taught me to be generous, compassionate, and driven. They always manage to show me love on my worst days and inspire me to care the way they do. My appreciation for my pets has contributed to my desire to become a veterinarian, as I strive to give back the love that animals so generously share. I believe that all animals have the purest souls, as I have witnessed this through my own cats. This relationship I have developed with my pets has made cats my favorite animals but more significantly, it has taught me to see the world from the kind perspective of the animals we love.
Since I started high school, science has become my favorite subject. My love for the subject began my freshman year in Earth Science class. Here, I learned more about the natural world and completely fell in love with just about all the topics. My interest allowed me to achieve very high grades and only furthered my academic drive. When moving onto my sophomore year, I pushed myself to take on more science classes since I grew to love the subject so much. I took 3 advanced science classes, chemistry, meteorology, and environmental science, over the course of the year. Although each class was vastly different, I thoroughly enjoyed each one and now have a greater understanding of different sciences. I now take AP Biology, which I absolutely love and I am eager to keep learning more about biology. With my admiration of science, I look forward to continuing my education.
My dream at 5 years old was to be an 'animal doctor.' I wanted to be a veterinarian before I could even pronounce the word. My aspiration to become a vet began when watching the show "Doc McStuffins" on Disney Channel. I admired this show and how the main character cared for the stuffed animals. As I got older, I realized that veterinary medicine is a trying field, yet each bit of this career that I have been exposed to has only encouraged me to work harder to achieve this goal. Last spring, I received an opportunity to work in the veterinary field as I got hired at the veterinary clinic I take my cats to. My experience in the clinic has been nothing short of amazing and it has only pushed me to love the work even more. In spending numerous hours in a veterinary setting, I have discovered a commonality between myself and the doctors; my passion and true calling is to be a veterinarian. I cannot picture myself spending my life in any other way. On a more personal level, a few of my cats have had health issues and my love for them has urged me to want to help them. Even if helping them isn't a cure, perhaps it's just making them more comfortable, I aspire to work diligently to give back the love they exude. Furthermore, my beliefs align with the purpose of being a vet, and that is that no condition should be discredited, despite the state or character of the creature. I hope that, as a veterinarian and a member of society, that I will not only help the animals in front of me, but inspire change in my community to be better. In being a vet, I will push myself to create a more interconnected and kind community through something most of us share, our fondness of animals.

My favorite animal is a elephant because they are very cute and very interesting. I like learning about them and it always interests me. I also love cats and dogs because they are the most popular house pets, and I have a cat and have lots of family members with dogs.
My favorite subject in school is math because it never gets me bored. There are always new things to learn and you dont really do the same thing everytime. I also love science when their are experiments involved.
I have a love for all animals and I see myself helping them in the future. I've always known I wanted to do a job that helps save things or people. I enjoy being around all animals. I love taking my cat to the vets and I always make sure I can go because it also makes me very interested to see and learn what the vets have to say.
